TJ and Kate met in the first weeks of their freshman year of college, thanks to being placed in Ehringhaus dorm only two suites down from each other. A month into college, they went to see Mipso with friends at Cat's Cradle. Mipso went on to be the band TJ and Kate saw most in concert throughout their relationship. (we really hunted for a better photo than this one from the concert -- alas everyone gets to experience the pride of being stamped as under-21)

After graduating from UNC, TJ and Kate went to Southeast Asia for a month, spending time in Thailand and Vietnam together. This is TJ and Kate at an elephant sanctuary in Chang Mai.

Later that summer, Kate and TJ roadtripped to Seattle, camping at Badlands, Yellowstone, Glacier, Banff and Jasper National Parks along the way. This is them at the spectacularly turquoise Lake Louise.
